Enumclaw, Washington Addiction Resource Guide

Enumclaw, Washington Addiction Resource Guide

Enumclaw, Washington is located in western Washington State. It is located about 45 miles southeast of Seattle and is in King County. It’s a beautiful place to live despite being a small city. Residents can find beaches, big city culture, attractions, restaurants and sports venues less than an hour away.

This city was formed by a volcanic mudflow about 5,700 years ago. Its name comes from a Salish Native American term that basically means “place of evil spirits”. This was probably a reference to Enumclaw Mountain or the volcanic activity in the area centuries ago.

“379 residents in King County died from a drug-related overdose in 2017. That’s more than one person every day.”

King County is one of the counties that have been hit the hardest in Washington State. Drug overdose rates appear to be climbing year after year. The increase in drug-related overdoses is mostly attributed to the opioid epidemic.

Drug and alcohol addiction rates have been rising everywhere in America. It did not leave Enumclaw untouched. Those who live in this city can find plenty of addiction resources here for themselves and for loved ones. If you or a loved one is struggling with a substance use disorder (SUD), consider getting help from the following resources.

Drug and Alcohol Detox and Rehab Facilities

To successfully recover from an addiction, you must get professional help. Professional assistance from a drug and alcohol detox and rehab facility can help ease withdrawal symptoms and make the recovery process safer. When seeking treatment, you want to make sure that you choose the right rehab facility.

This means that you’ll need to take many factors into consideration. For example, you should consider the staff-to-client ratio, the type of amenities and treatment programs provided and more. You also need to consider the level of care that you need. There are mainly two options to choose from:

  • Inpatient treatment program. If you’re looking for an intense level of care, you can’t go wrong with inpatient care. You’ll move into the drug rehab or alcohol rehab facility for anywhere from 28 to 90 days. There, you’ll receive detox services and other evidence-based treatment. With inpatient treatment programs, you’ll receive around-the-clock medical attention and care.
  • Outpatient treatment program. If you’re looking for a flexible treatment option, you’ll need outpatient care. With this type of treatment, you won’t have to stay at the treatment facility. Instead, you can receive treatment whenever you want. Most treatment programs span several months. There are different types of outpatient programs. Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHPs) offer the most intense type of outpatient care, and will require a commitment of at least 5 days of therapy a week. Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOPs) are more flexible. If you choose this level of care, you will need to commit to at least 9 hours of therapy a week.

If you’re looking for substance abuse treatment for treating any addiction, you’ll need to travel. There aren’t any detox or rehab facilities in Enumclaw. There are, however, some medical clinics that offer some type of counseling.

More and more Americans are struggling with a drug addiction. Prescription pill use has been on the rise. Many Americans are getting addicted to drugs like Xanax and oxycodone. Those who are struggling with drug abuse should seek support from a Narcotics Anonymous (NA) meeting. These meetings follow twelve steps and principles, much like AA.

There is just one NA meeting in Enumclaw, Washington. If you can’t make it to this meeting, you are always free to go to an AA meeting or to join an online support group instead.

As addiction rates are rising, it’s not surprising to find out that about 46% of Americans know an addict. Dealing with an addiction from this side of the fence can be equally as stressful and difficult. Loved ones need to come to terms with the fact that they may not be able to help the addict. You can interfere all you want. If the addict is not ready to get sober, you won’t be able to help him or her.

There is an Al-Anon meeting in Enumclaw. At these meetings, you can open up about your struggles and learn more about addiction. You can also get to know other people who are in similar situations, so you don’t feel so alone.

Al-Anon meetings welcome people from all walks of life. If you’re still a teenager and between the ages of 13 and 18, you may face different struggles and problems. While Al-Anon meetings may help you overcome some hurdles in your way, Alateen meetings are much more effective. These meetings are led by teenagers and will show you how other people in your position have dealt with the same issues.

Unfortunately, it’s not always easy to find Alateen meetings in Enumclaw. There aren’t any meetings at the moment. So far, most of the meetings described are faith-based. There is a new type of meeting that’s gaining traction. This type of meeting is science-based and teach evidence-based treatment approaches to dealing with an addiction. These meetings are known as Self-Management and Recovery Training (SMART) meetings. They follow a 4-point program that teaches things like how to live a balanced life and how to cope with cravings.

There aren’t any SMART meetings in Enumclaw. This isn’t too surprising when you consider the fact that these meetings are relatively new. If you’re interested in trying something new, you’ll need to travel to Tacoma or Sumner.
