The meeting structure is faith-based and follows twelve unique philosophies.
AA meetings are free to join. There is no obligation to go to another meeting. With that said, most experts recommend going to the same meeting every week. This will help members build stronger relationships with other members.

This mutual support group was named Narcotics Anonymous (NA). Members are encouraged to go to at least one meeting a week. Those who need extra support should go to more meetings. Some recovering drug users may go to a meeting each day.
NA meetings are free to join. They’re also faith-based. With that said, members do not need to be religious, as NA is not affiliated with any religious groups.

Al-Anon is a mutual support group that follows the same meeting structure and style as every other 12-step program. These recovery meetings are designed for the family and friends of alcohol abusers. They’re technically for anyone whose life has been affected by an alcoholic.
