Drug and Alcohol Detox in Bothell, WA

Drug and alcohol detox is one of the best ways to begin your recovery from addiction. This is because it addresses the main reason that most people relapse – withdrawal.

Those who take part in a drug or alcohol detox program prior to entering an addiction treatment program will be less likely to relapse. They will also be more likely to have higher long-term success rates. They’re more likely to maintain their sobriety.

Drug and alcohol detox works by getting rid of the toxins in the body. Neurochemical imbalances make recovery difficult to achieve. Detox programs can shorten the withdrawal timeline.  It can also ease, if not completely eliminate, life-threatening withdrawal symptoms.

There are approximately 2 detox centers in Bothell, Washington. You can get all types of detox services from these detox centers. Depending on the substances that you’re addicted to, you will be prescribed various medications. For example, you may be prescribed methadone or Suboxone if you have an opioid addiction or acamprosate if you have an addiction to alcohol.

Medical vs. Holistic Detox Programs

When choosing a detox program, there are two different types of detox available. They include medical detox and holistic detox. Both are both used regularly.

Medical detox involves the use of medications to ease withdrawal symptoms. The medications can normalize brain chemistry levels and also treat specific symptoms. For example, FDA-approved medications, like buprenorphine, can treat opioid withdrawal symptoms. Some detox centers will also prescribe medications like sleeping pills. These medications treat insomnia. Unfortunately, some medications used in medical detox are addictive. If abused, patients can develop a secondary addiction.

Holistic detox is a bit different. This detox process allows for the removal of toxins from the body naturally, as opposed to using medications that can become addictive. Holistic detox processes involve dietary changes and exercises. Patients may be asked to stay hydrated or to take part in specific exercise programs.

Many detox centers will use a combination of both medical and holistic detox options. Holistic detox may not always be appropriate for some addictions. Some withdrawal symptoms can be life-threatening. In these situations, medical detox becomes absolutely necessary.

Alcohol and Drug Rehabs in Bothell, Washington

Alcohol rehab is something that everyone should consider when they suffer from alcoholism. The same can be said for drug addiction. There’s nothing more intense than professional addiction treatment. It’ll help you get over an addiction in a safe way. You’ll not only enter a detox program, but you’ll also likely go through different treatment modalities that can help you grow as a person.

It’s important to note that trying to get clean without professional support can be dangerous. Many people who try to do so will usually end up relapsing because they don’t have the tools and skills needed to deal with the addiction.

Those who choose to seek treatment from a rehab facility will usually have a better shot at recovery. There are two drug and alcohol rehab facilities in Bothell, WA.

Rehab facilities will usually start with a detox program. Once patients have completed the detox program, they can then continue on to other types of treatments. Popular treatment modalities include group and individual counseling, behavioral therapy, and more.

Rehab treatment programs treat not only physical symptoms, but also psychological symptoms as well. Most programs will take at least a month to complete. With that said, many treatment programs continue on for several months. Longer treatments are usually reserved for those with a more serious addiction.

When choosing a rehab facility, you can choose between different levels of care. This will determine the amount of medical supervision and support you'll receive. It will also determine the amount of commitment you'll need to put into the program. You can choose between three main levels of care. They include:

  • Outpatient treatment programs. These programs are the most flexible. Patients can choose when they would like to receive treatment. With standard outpatient programs, patients can receive as little as several hours of therapy every week. They may even choose to go to therapy when they feel like they need it. With an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), patients must get at least 9 hours of treatment every week.
  • Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHPs). These programs are one step up from outpatient programs. Patients will have to get treatment at a rehab center every day. Treatment lengths vary from 4 hours to over 8 hours a day.
  • Inpatient treatment programs. These are also known as residential treatment programs. These programs require patients to pack and move into the rehab facility. Patients receive around-the-clock care every day from nursing staff and other medical professionals. Most inpatient programs take anywhere from 28 to 90 days to complete.

Northpoint Recovery is an inpatient treatment facility. We highly recommend this level of care to those who struggle with a moderate to severe addiction. This treatment program is also ideal for those who are getting treatment for the first time.

Those who opt for inpatient care will get around-the-clock treatment. As a result, they'll have a more individualized and personalized treatment plan. All of their needs will be easily met. The nursing staff can make changes to each patient's treatment plan as they go. The new environment will also give recovering addicts a new start.

NA was founded in 1953, and has helped millions of recovering drug addicts get their lives back on the right track.

NA meetings follow the same structure as AA meetings. They follow the same twelve steps and principles, which is what makes them so effective. These meetings can help recovering drug abusers learn how to cope with urges and stay motivated throughout their journey to recovery.

Like with AA meetings, there are both closed and open meetings. Closed meetings are reserved for recovering substance abusers.
