Where to Find SeaTac, WA Area Drug and Alcohol Addiction Recovery Resources
For people living in SeaTac, Washington in need of alcohol and drug addiction recovery resources, help is readily available. Yet, so many feel as though they have been sentenced to a life of substance abuse. They do not know where to turn for assistance, and many will just continue to use. Others may continually attempt to quit only to put themselves in danger of a possible relapse, and maybe even an overdose.
12-Step groups like Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous can change everything for people with addictions. Also, families can get assistance through Al-Anon and Alateen. There are even professional resources, such as detox and rehab that can be very beneficial to someone who is new to treatment.
We have put together this helpful addiction recovery resource guide for SeaTac to assist those who live in that area. No one should feel imprisoned to their drug or alcohol abuse problem, and there really is hope. It is possible to recover and go on to live a full and productive life.
Please note that we are not affiliated with any of the following organizations.
The Benefits of Alcoholics Anonymous
For those suffering from alcoholism, everything can seem hopeless. In 1935, two men decided that there needed to be a way for alcoholics to get support from one another to quit drinking. They themselves had serious drinking problems, and they started Alcoholics Anonymous in Akron, Ohio.
The idea caught on, and today, there are AA meetings all over the world. Millions of people have received help and been able to remain sober long-term because of AA.
People battling alcoholism can get a lot of support through SeaTac area AA meetings. There are several meetings taking place all week long.

The Benefits of Narcotics Anonymous
When AA was started, there was no similar support group for people with drug addictions. That is what led to the founding of Narcotics Anonymous in 1955. Since that time, NA has also become a worldwide organization.
Like AA, there is no membership fee charged to become a member of NA. They also invite anyone with any type of addiction to join them at their meetings. It is a place where new friends are made and people get the help they need.
Going to a local NA meeting in the SeaTac area has so many rewards. There are a lot of meetings taking place there each week.

Read Our BlogWhat are Al-Anon and Alateen and How do They Help Families?
Al-Anon is an organization that was set up as a way to help the families of alcoholics and drug addicts. They understand that loved ones often struggle the most when a member of their family is using. They spend a lot of time worrying about them and trying to get them to quit. It can be a very lonely and emotionally painful experience.
When people attend Al-Anon meetings, they get the chance to talk with others who have been in their shoes. They also get to learn all about addiction and what it really is.
Alateen is a part of the Al-Anon organization, only it is just for young people. They hold meetings every week for teenagers, young adults and at times, older children.
There are several Al-Anon meetings in the SeaTac area. So many families have gotten the support they need by attending. Here is a complete list within a 10-mile radius of the city.

Do You Need Inpatient Treatment?
Even though 12-Step groups are helpful, they are not always the best solution for everyone. This is especially true for someone who is new to seeking treatment for their addiction. That is why it is important to consider whether an inpatient treatment program might be the better option for you.
During inpatient treatment, patients will receive detailed, personalized treatment plans that have been designed to meet their needs. They may need to go through a period of detox prior to starting rehab. This may take between seven and ten days.
After detoxing, they will be able to move on to a high-quality rehabilitation program. They will receive individual therapy sessions with an addictions therapist, as well as other forms of treatment.
An inpatient program might be best for you if you:
- Have a history of relapsing.
- Have never gotten any other type of help for your addiction in the past.
- Believe you may be suffering from a co-occurring disorder, such as anxiety or depression.
- Are addicted to more than one substance.
- Have tried other forms of rehab, but they have all failed.
At Northpoint Recovery, we offer one of the best inpatient drug and alcohol treatment programs in the region. We have worked with patients from all over the country to assist them with their recovery needs. In fact, we have also worked with a lot of people from SeaTac.
Our facility is located in Boise, Idaho, and it is about a nine-hour car ride from SeaTac. For those who choose to come by airplane, it only takes about an hour and twenty minutes.
Northpoint Recovery can provide you with all the support you need during this critical time. It is a solution that we think you should seriously consider if you are looking for long-term results.
Common Questions About Addiction Treatment at Northpoint Recovery
If you are just now considering getting treated for your addiction, you probably have a lot of questions. We would like to take this opportunity to answer them for you.
Some people prefer to attend a treatment program in their hometown. But many prefer the idea of going away to get the help they need. They find that it is beneficial for them to take some time away from the stresses they encounter every day. They may want to limit visitors and have the time to solely focus on recovering. When they are finished with their inpatient stay, they may even choose to remain in the area as a way to “start over.”
Your health insurance is required by the Affordable Care Act to provide you with benefits to help pay for both detox and rehab. It is very important to choose a program that participates with your insurance. This will cut down on your out of pocket expenses drastically.
There are a few ways to find out if you would be a candidate for inpatient detox and rehab. Some people prefer to take a quiz like this one. This may answer a lot of your questions and help you make the right decision.
Others prefer to talk with a professional and get a recommendation from them. At Northpoint Recovery, we offer a free addiction assessment that can be done over the phone. This allows you to talk with a counselor about your situation and they can tell you what type of treatment you need.
