NA, AA, and Al-Anon Meetings in Lynnwood, WA

1 in 5 of all Washington state drug overdoses occurs in Snohomish County. It’s time that our friends, family members, and neighbors get the help and support they need.

The city of Lynnwood is at the heart of Washington state’s opioid crisis. This small city is located in Snohomish County, after all, and Snohomish County has one of the biggest drug problems in the entire state.

In fact, data recently published by the County’s government shows that nearly 20% of all overdoses in Washington occur in this county. While heroin and fentanyl are responsible for the majority of the deaths, prescription pills and other opioids are involved, as well.

While the city is taking steps to cut down on the number of deaths, it appears that the problem is only growing worse. Earlier this year, local hospitals reported that roughly 37 people checked in for opioid overdoses weekly.

So, it’s clear that our friends and family members need help. And it’s our job to help them.

Northpoint Recovery has compiled a list of AA and NA meetings near Lynnwood, WA. We hope that by connecting local residents with these valuable resources, we may be able to save some lives.

Narcotics Anonymous: A Place for Addicts to Find Support

Overcoming a drug addiction is difficult—extremely difficult. After all, when someone is chemically dependent on a substance, they start to build their entire identity around it. Many times, addicts stay users because they can’t imagine life without that drug in their life.

This is why Narcotics Anonymous exists—to give addicts the chance to find a new life. By connecting active users with recovered addicts, this group shows people that life after addiction is possible.

In NA, members work their way through the Twelve Steps. This is essentially a system for getting sober. While it doesn’t work for anyone, many people find the Twelve Steps are the guidebook they need to turn their lives around.

Addicts from all walks of life attend these meetings. And they’re all addicted to different drugs, too. So, whether your drug of choice is crystal methcocaine, heroin, Vicodin, or even marijuana, the group will welcome you with open arms.

Looking for a Narcotics Anonymous group near you? Look no further!

Lynnwood Resource Profile

Alcoholics Anonymous: Battling Alcoholism in Lynnwood

In Washington state, alcohol is nearly as bad of a problem as heroin and other drugs.

According to an article from USA Today, the problem is actually really bad. Nearly 20% of local residents admit to binge-drinking on a regular basis. And, the state ranks 12th highest in alcohol-related driving deaths.

So, the Evergreen State’s drinking problem doesn’t just affect problem drinkers; it threatens the safety of everyone else, too.

This means, of course, that we need to help our friends and family members overcome their alcohol addiction problems.

Luckily, Alcoholics Anonymous can help. And there are plenty of AA meetings in Lynnwood and other nearby cities that offer support.

Like NA, this organization utilizes the 12 Steps to help addicts get sober. In these meetings, addicts are able to meet and connect with others who have been through (or are going through) the same situation. Throughout the Program, addicts learn to have compassion for themselves and to develop healthy tools for managing the urge to relapse

If you or someone you love is suffering from alcohol addiction, these meetings could be a valuable resource.

Wondering where you can find a meeting near you? Well, you’re in luck!

Al-Anon: A Support Network for Families

It can be just as difficult to watch someone struggle with addiction as it is to live through addiction yourself.

After all, watching a loved one wreck their life with drugs or alcohol is frustrating, painful, and heartbreaking. Sometimes, those of us who love addicts need a support group, too.

This is why Al-Anon exists. It provides the family members and friends of addicts with a place to go and meet others who understand their situation.

In these meetings, individuals share their stories, discuss their experiences, and offer advice for coping with the overwhelming feelings that this situation can generate. Ultimately, many people find that these meetings help them to feel a little less alone.

Do you love an addict? Is their habit making your life painful?

Drug and Alcohol Detox

Meetings and support groups are great. But, sometimes you have to detox first.

Not everyone can jump straight from addiction into the meetings. Some people have to go through detox before they can do anything else.

Addiction, after all, is a physical disease. It changes the way that the addict’s mind works and the way that their body functions. In order to rewire their body again, they have to expel the drug and its byproducts from their system.

This process can be painful, of course. As the addict expels the drug from their system, they go through “withdrawals”. The symptoms of withdrawal are often quite uncomfortable.

Many people choose to go through withdrawals in a professional detox facility. This can help to eliminate some of the pain that’s associated with the process. Not everyone does so, but it can help to reduce the risk of relapse

Luckily, there are a handful of detox programs in the area. If you’re hoping to go through the process under professional supervision, you can read more about our services here.

Drug and Alcohol Rehab Programs

Rehab is another popular addiction resource. These programs provide intensive therapy to addicts over a long period of time.

Whereas Twelve Step programs like AA and NA offer addicts the opportunity to meet up with a group for an hour or two, rehab programs usually last all day long. Typically, newly-recovered addicts will attend several weeks of inpatient or outpatient rehab before they transition into Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous.

The goal of drug and alcohol rehab is to help addicts heal. It does this by helping the individual to understand why they become addicted, what prolonged their addiction, and how they can stay sober in the future. Oftentimes, addicts use rehab as a time to reflect on their past behavior and to develop a plan for the future.

Typically, rehab programs consist of:
