Northpoint CEO Stokes Aitken on the Future of Addiction Treatment

Northpoint Recovery CEO Stokes Aitken was recently featured by Future of Personal Health as part of its Addiction & Recovery Awareness campaign. In the interview, Stokes discusses the biggest challenges facing addiction treatment today and what gives him hope for the future of recovery.

Stokes explains why treatment can’t take a one-size-fits-all approach. Every person arrives with a different history, and lasting change depends on addressing the mental health conditions and other factors that may be contributing to substance use. He also talks about making high-quality care fit into people’s daily responsibilities, and about the role of community in long-term recovery. That includes Northpoint’s alumni program, which helps people stay connected to their goals after formal treatment ends.

As Stokes puts it, “Recovery is possible, and treatment doesn’t have to look the same for everyone.”
