AA, NA, and Al-Anon Meetings in Lake Oswego, OR

Clackamas County loses dozens of citizens to drug overdoses each year. It’s about time we started connecting our family members and neighbors with the resources they need.

It’s no secret that the United States is currently facing a drug crisis. The problem is so bad, in fact, that experts say overdose deaths have driven down the average life expectancy of US citizens.

But, the Clackamas County area is experiencing a mini drug crisis of its own. The problem has actually gotten so bad that the County has partnered with two surrounding counties to take preventative measures against the problem.

Along with Washington and Multnomah Counties, Clackamas founded the Opioid Safety Coalition. In the words of the organization, this initiative aims to “decrease opioid misuse and associated harms.”

While the aims of the Coalition and other, similar organizations are welcomed, we must also connect addicts with resources that can help them in the short-term.

That’s why we’ve compiled this list of AA and NA meetings near Lake Oswego. It’s our hope that this resources helps the addicts in Clackamas County to get the help they need.

Alcoholics Anonymous: Helping Alcohol Addicts Get Sober

Alcoholics Anonymous is a staple in the addiction recovery community. This program has been around for nearly a century and has helped countless alcohol addicts to get sober during that time.

The organization facilitates meetings in nearly every city across America on a daily basis. In these meetings, alcohol addicts gather to discuss their lives and offer support and advice to one another.

Every meeting is 100% free. Most meetings are open to the public. No matter what you’ve done in your life or how poorly you behaved while under the influence of alcohol, the group will be happy to have you. They welcome every single member with open arms.

Want to join a warm and compassionate group that can offer the recovery support you need? One of the meetings below might work for you. Take a look!

Lake Oswego Resource Profile

Narcotics Anonymous: A Community of Recovering Drug Addicts

Narcotics Anonymous is similar to Alcoholics Anonymous. They both use a 12-step recovery model to help addicts get clean. They both hold regular meetings that are attended by hundreds (if not thousands) of addicts across the country. And, they’re both valuable resources for anyone with a substance abuse problem.

Whereas AA is designed for recovering alcoholics, this program caters specifically to people to abuse drugs. Members have been addicted to everything from heroin and crystal meth to cocaine, crackprescription pills, and marijuana

So, no matter what your drug of choice is, this group will welcome you and do their best to help you overcome your habit.

Are you addicted to narcotics? Is your problem getting out of hand? Take one of our free online quizzes to get definitive answers:

Al-Anon: A Support Group for the Loved Ones of Addicts

Loving an addict is complicated. It can generate feelings of fear, anger, sadness, and guilt all at once. Even though we love them, we’re often upset by the fact that they can’t seem to change.

When your family member is addicted to drugs, it helps to have support. After all, you’re not the only person struggling with the issue. There are millions of addicts currently living in America. That means there are a lot of family members out there losing sleep over their loved one’s condition.

Al-Anon provides a place where the family members of addicts can go to find support. If your child, parent, sibling or spouse is battling addiction, this could be a great resource for you.
